Transforming the Trail: EHMI’s Summer Collaboration with Northwoods

Hard work, collaboration, and positive change are three words that capture what I enjoy most about the EHMI cabin.

This past July, EHMI collaborated with the Northwoods Stewardship Center and Moosehaven's owner, Walter Norman, to improve the Norman Trail, which ascends the northwest side of Easthaven Mountain to the EHMI cabin. The attached photos show the Northwoods team that put in all the hard work, along with some before-and-after shots of the trail, highlighting the dramatic positive changes that were made.

We’re grateful to Maria, the Executive Director of Northwoods, for teaching us some basic trail-building skills, and we look forward to further improving this trail in the years ahead.

This experience reminded me that positive change in our lives often requires both hard work and collaboration. Our mission and prayer are for the EHMI cabin to continue serving as a safe place for positive change in the lives of those who make the trek up there.
